Senior League Baseball Bats

"Senior League" refers to the youth league after "Little League" but before High School. Senior League players are usually between the ages of 13-15 and/or grades 7-9. If your child falls within this age category, a Senior League bat will probably be the best choice for you.

Baseball bats are, in theory anyway, a relatively simple piece of equipment. Yet, when buying a bat, you are faced with many options. Wood or composite? What size is right for me? The most important factor to keep in mind, from Little League to the pros, is that buying a bat is a personal decision. Properly selecting a bat means keeping in mind your height, weight, skill and strength levels. You obviously want one that fits within your budget, but equally important is simply how the bat "feels" to you.

Improvements in technology have given today's players more options than ever. Heavier bats provide more power while lighter bats enable faster swing speeds. Are you strong and athletic, or smaller and more likely to benefit from greater swing speed? Longer bats provide greater reach and ability to connect with outside pitches, but the added weight can reduce swing speed and power. Barrel diameter can also affect a batter's efficiency. All Senior League baseball bats have a 2 3/4in or a 2 5/8 inch barrel. Traditionally these have been for ages 13-15, but many leagues have approved them for play for younger players. Not legal for high school play.
